Bukhara Ibex Hunts

We organize a Bukhara Ibex hunt in the Lyakhsh (formerly Jirgatol) district of Tajikistan. The hunting area is safe and secure, and it is a 7-hour one-way drive from Dushanbe International Airport. Typically, clients arrive on Turkish Airlines at 1:55 am, and after picking up their bags and clearing customs, we drive directly from the airport to the hunting area. Sometimes, clients request a day of rest in Dushanbe before heading to the hunting area, and we can arrange that at their own expense.

After arriving at the hunting area, we'll head up to the mountain hut, a 2-3-hour horseback ride. Usually, we let the hunters test their rifles the same day and make sure they are ready for the hunt the next morning. The hunting elevation depends on the season and the amount of snow on the ground. For example, in September, October, and part of November, we do a significant amount of spot-and-stalk, and Bukhara Ibex are at higher elevations. In December through February, the Bukhara Ibex are at significantly lower elevations.

From the mountain hut, you'll hike back and forth each day to hunt Bukhara ibex. Some days, you'll hike for 2-3 hours, depending on the snow, trail conditions, and how high the ibex are. Early in the season, we are most likely to set up tents to avoid constant back-and-forth between the hunting area and the mountain hut for spotting and stalking.
